Frank and Mick have been playing together under the Dennis Delight name since 1973. Both are now in their 60s and the band's accumulated age is a majestic 166.

From the 1970’s to the 1990’s, Dennis Delight were a well-known name around Preston and also gigged up and down the country.

They won the Blackpool Evening Gazette's Rock Battle Competition in 1983 and established a name as a solid live act, releasing numerous albums.

Clark, formerly of another veteran Preston band, Fat Lad's Brother, began as a fan, never missing their Preston gigs when he was just 14, and finally joined them on bass around nine years ago.

They've had a few guitarists over the years but Frank and Mick stayed as a constant. Then, around six years ago, Mick stepped back from live performance.

Clark said: "He stopped doing it for a while and this is his first gig back for seven years. Me and Frank were doing acoustic stuff under the name Plumb Crazy for a while.

"Frank and Mick are in their 60’s now while I'm just 46 - I'm just the baby of the band!

"They have played all over, they've been as far afield as London and Aberdeen with all stops in between - and they were very big in Preston back then.                             .

"They used to fill The Ship in Water Lane every Friday night and they also used to play The Moonraker regularly - which is now the Venue - and The Amethyst Club in Avenham which was a big music venue back then.

"They had a big following. They originally started in another band called Barbed Wire Soup and eventually they got other members in and, because they were writing more and more, they formed Dennis Delight."
